Hi! I'm Matt. I'm a writer and musician working out of San Antonio, Texas, which is hot. Really hot. Like, REALLY, REALLY hot.
As a young kid, I wanted to do a lot of different things. Originally I wanted to follow in the footsteps of my forebears and join the military, but that quickly dissipated when I realized my passion for art. After that I wanted to be an artist, a cartoonist, and a film director among other things, but my lasting loves were always writing stories and making music.
I've been writing since I was 9 years old. Like most young kids, I was a pretty reluctant reader until around that age when I happened across the Chronicles of Narnia books, which I kind of enjoyed. The Percy Jackson books were sort of a new, undiscovered thing back then -- these were the books that really turned me on to reading. From then on, I read everything I could get my hands on, and wrote my own stories.
I'm 18 now. I've written several short stories, novelettes/novellas, failed attempts at books, and 3 full length novels -- 2 epic fantasies and a middle grade science-fiction adventure. I'm currently working on re-drafting one of those epic fantasies.
I have been in bands around my area. Currently I'm in a melodic-metalcore band called Remnants. We will be putting out our debut EP sometime this year.
